This past month, I've had great fun working on a four-minute mini-documentary about feminism. After spending the past year working on a book about the topic, it was surprisingly refreshing to consider it through motion pictures.
As a producer/director, I now have enormously more sympathy for those I put on the other side of the camera. It's a lot more work than it seems just to spit out coherent sentences and not bust a take! We have some hilarious outtakes from my performance. Maybe I'll get to post them sometime soon.
In the meantime, I invite you to click on the image above to see this short film.
(And once again, I get to credit the fine team I partner with so often. I worked with Vinegar Hill Picture Works to shoot and edit this piece--thanks to David Altrogge and Michael Hartnett for their hard work and cheerful enthusiasm! The original score is by Roger Hooper and Dallas Taylor of DeFacto Sound did the sound design and audio mix.)
Awesome video, Carolyn! Great job and thanks for sharing...

Excellent film! I'll be sending the link to friends and posting it on my Facebook. I'm hoping to get your book soon, as well. I love seeing it get a recommendation from my pastor, Ligon Duncan!

HI Carolyn, I have been following your blog for the last couple of months and find it such an inspiration. I live in South Africa so don't yet have the pleasure of being able to buy your book, but I am sure we will get them down here in a couple of months. I am really looking forward to it. Just wanted to drop a couple of lines to tell you that God is using you all over the world even in an off the map place like South Africa thanks to the wonder of the internet! My day is never complete unless I have spent a couple of minutes to see what you had to say online. Thanks again for a wonderful blog!

Hi, Sandra!
I rarely have time to comment on my own blog, but I just had to tell you that South Africa is far from being an off-the-map place. In fact, it is very dear to my heart because it is where I became a Christian! So I'm very glad to know that someone is that precious place is reading my blog now.
Blessings on you!

Carolyn-
I am SO excited about this book! I've been thinking for years that we need a Christian woman's perspective on feminism, femininity, etc. You're delivering a very important message, and I pray it touches the hearts and lives of women across the country and world.
Thanks!
