Waking Up to Faith

Today is the first day of a three-day series on FamilyLife Today about Radical Womanhood: Feminine Faith in a Feminist World. Hosts Dennis Rainey and Bob Lepine interviewed me last summer, just as my book was going to print, and now these interviews are airing. As I've experienced before with them, we had a great time -- mixing laughter with serious discussion. It's always a privilege to be asked to be on their show.

The program today, "Waking Up to Faith," is described as: "Are men really the problem? That's what Carolyn McCulley wondered as she grappled her way through her Women's Studies courses in college. Today, Carolyn remembers hearing the gospel clearly taught for the first time and tells how it radically changed her life and her beliefs about feminism."

Tuesday's program is "Feminism's Beginnings" and Wednesday's topic is "Feminism's Impact on Marriage and Family."

I was listening to this broadcast on my way home from bringing the kids to school this morning.

The moment before I left my house, I was listening to my husband tell me some (actually very neat) things, but what I was playing through my mind as he spoke were a lot of really ugly thoughts that I know I picked up in my brief dabble in feminism.

As I left the house, I thought to myself: Girl, you need to get your head straight about this stuff once and for all. Because I knew I was wrong-thinking in this. I knew it.

I flipped the radio to KFAX and was glad to hear the discussion regarding your book. I think that when the next time rolls around that I have some extra money, I will order your book, the book that was referenced on the show and I hear there's a big ol' book by Mark Driscoll that is also really good

I may just buy them all, grab my bible and a jug of water hole myself up in my room until I settle this issue in my heart once and for all.
