I have to say that the people of my church know how to celebrate the Christmas season! As a new church, we are still in the stage of getting to know each other and thus the holiday invitations are a-flying. So far, I've attended two Christmas craft events and an Advent brunch. This weekend I'm headed to a cookie exchange, caroling outreach, open house, and an "Elf"-themed bake-off -- all four sugar food groups required! (That's the fun stuff. I am also coordinating with one of the young men who lead our mercy ministry outreach to provide services to the homeless and critically ill. More on that later.)
All of this weekend's events require Christmas goodies, so I was glad to discover this list of 27 yummy holiday cookie recipes. The eggnog bars look especially dangerous. So do the chocolate chunk cookies with Nutella. YUM!
If you have a Christmas cookie favorite, please share it here. At least the online recipe exchange is not nearly as dangerous as the real cookie exchange!

Real Simple's White Chocolate snowballs are my favorite Christmas cookie EVER. The dough is to die for.

Hi Carolyn,
I checked out the cookie recipes on the website. I might try to do the cereal bars one or the Sesame Halvah cookies. They all look scrumptious.
Thank you for sharing this link.

Hi Carolyn,
Merry Christmas! My mom has blessed many people over the years with her Christmas cookie "gift". She makes almost 20 different kinds each year and of course each of her kids (there are seven of us) has their favorite. And no one knows the real names of them we just have our own kind of code, i.e. my sister likes the "shapes" (and they are not cut-outs). My mom has mastered the art of the cookie press and although my skills are improving I don't think I'll ever have her touch.
All seven of us took plates of these cookies to our teachers each year. Our mailman, pastor, and as my siblings got married their in-laws also were treated to what have become not just a tradition but a legend.
So although the "gift" of Christmas cookie making is not specifically listed in the Bible, I know she has blessed literally hundreds of people with their tastiness and her kindness and thoughtfuless.
On another note, so exciting to hear all the different ways the people in your new church are reaching out to establish relationships.

The cookies at the link look delicious.
I recommend the biscotti recipe at mariesaba.com. They're easy and they look impressive.
